Nescafe cake is one of the top Sri Lankan desserts, everyone likes, especially the kids.
A few weeks ago I have posted a simple vanilla cake recipe that went viral. So this time I am going to show you a simple Nescafe cake recipe.
I am going to demonstrate this recipe step by step with all the necessary pictures.

Best Nescafe Cake Recipe
Ingredients
For Cake
- Butter – 250g
- Plain flour – 250g
- Sugar – 250g
- Egg – 5
- Nescafe – 1 ½ teaspoon
- Baking powder – 2 ½ teaspoons
- Vanilla extract – 3 teaspoons
- Hot water – 2 tablespoons
For Toppings
- Butter – 2 tablespoons
- Icing sugar – 200g
- Nescafe – 1 ½ teaspoon
- Hot water – 1 tablespoon
Notes
1. Use a good quality butter.
2. Always beat or mix the batter in the same direction.
3. After adding the plain flour, don’t beat or mix the batter for long.
4. Don’t wait for so long to put the cake tray into the oven after you make the cake batter.
5. When you bake the cake set the oven to convection mode.
6. If you are not sure whether the cake is ready or not, insert a stick inside the cake and take it out. If it’s come out clean, the cake is ready.
7. Wait until the cake comes to the room temperature before flipping it on a flat surface and apply the icing topping cream.
Instructions
1. Get ready with butter, plain flour, sugar, eggs, Nescafe, baking powder, and vanilla extract.
2. Sift the plain flour and baking powder together to remove any clumps.
3. Separate the egg yolk and egg white as shown in the picture below.
4. Using an electric mixer beat egg white until stiff peaks form.
5. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy and light in color. For me, it takes about 10 minutes.
6. Now add the egg yolk one by one. Beat well after each egg yolk.
7. Then add the beaten egg white little by little. Beat well after each addition.
8. Now add the sifted flour mix. Don’t beat, but mix them well until all combined. (Beat in a slow speed mode for 1 or 2 minutes if needed)
9. Add Nescafe and hot water in a bowl. Mix well until all dissolve. Then, add that Nescafe liquid and vanilla extract to the cake batter and beat in a slow speed mode for 1 minute.
10. Now, place parchment paper on top of the cake tray and pour the cake batter. Spread the cake batter evenly.
11. Preheat the oven for 5 minutes. Place the cake tray inside the oven and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 50 minutes.
12. Once done, take out the cake tray from the oven and let the cake cools down to the room temperature.
13. Now, add icing sugar and butter in a bowl. On top of that, add Nescafe and hot water mixed liquid.
14. Using a spoon mix them well until totally combined as shown in the picture below.
15. Now flip the cake to another tray and take off the parchment paper.
16. Apply the topping cream and spread evenly as shown in the picture below.
17. Finally, using a fork draw a simple design as shown in the picture below.
