There are varieties of coconut sambals Sri Lankan people prepare. Have you ever tasted green chilli coconut sambal? If not, here is the time to make it possible. Today, I am going to show you the best way to make a green chilli coconut sambal recipe in Sri Lankan style.

Coconut sambal or pol sambol is one of the famous dishes in Sri Lanka.

Since it is keto-friendly any people who are following the KETO diet can have this delicious coconut sambal.

Usually, people make this green chilli coconut sambal for breakfast, but you can have this for lunch or dinner as well.

Sri Lankan Green Chilli Coconut Sambal

Ingredients
  • Grated coconut – 200g
  • Onion – 50g
  • Green chili – 10 to 12
  • Thick tamarind juice – 1 ½ tablespoon
  • Sugar – ½ teaspoon
  • Salt – As you need (KETO people use the Himalayan Pink Salt)
Notes

1. You can increase or reduce green chilies according to your taste.
2. You can use lime or lemon instead of tamarind juice. If it is lime or lemon, use it at the very end.
3. Try to use small onion or shallots. If it is hard to find shallots, use the large one.

Instructions

1. Get ready with grated coconut, onions, green chilies, thick tamarind juice, sugar, and salt.

2. Clean the mortar and pestle. Add green chilies and salt together. Using the pestle bash and muddle them to a fine/medium textured paste. For me, it takes about 4 minutes.
