Simple Fish Stew Recipe (KETO)
Ingredients
- Fish pieces – 250g
- Onion – 50g
- Black pepper – 1 tablespoon
- Fennel seeds – ¾ tablespoon
- Cumin seeds – ¼ teaspoon
- Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon
- Mustard seeds – ¼ teaspoon
- Garlic cloves – 5 or 6
- Ginger – Small piece (about the size of 1½ garlic cloves)
- Curry leaves – Few
- Green chilies – 5 or 6
- Thick coconut milk – 225ml
- Water – 100ml
- Salt – As you need (KETO people use Himalayan pink salt)
- Lime – ½
- Cooking oil – As you need (KETO people use Extra virgin coconut oil)
Instructions
1. Take black pepper, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, garlic cloves, and a piece of ginger root.
2. Put everything in the grinder and grind them to a smooth paste as shown in the picture below.
3. Take the fish pieces and rinse them well enough.
4. Add the ground paste and salt. Mix everything well and keep aside for at least 30 minutes.
5. Slice the onions and take the green chilies. Also, get ready with the curry leaves, mustard seeds, and lime.
6. Prepare 225ml of thick coconut milk and take 100ml of water.
7. Heat the oil and add mustard seeds. Let the seeds splutter. Then add onions and sauté it until it turns into light brown color.
8. Now add the curry leaves and green chilies. Stir and fry them for one minute.
9. Add the marinated fish pieces, coconut milk, and water. Mix them well and cook covered under high flame for 6 to 8 minutes.
10. Take off the lid and give a gentle stir. Again cook covered under very low flame for 5 to 7 minutes.
11. Taste the curry and adjust salt if needed.
12. Finally, switch off the flame and add the lime juice. Give one last gentle stir.

1. Use the small onions if you can find some around you.
2. Don’t slice the green chilies. Just take off the head part of the green chili.
